Monaco Basket Association: A New Era for Women’s Basketball
The 2025–2026 season marks a milestone for the Monaco Basket Association (MBA) as the team proudly returns to Ligue Féminine 2, three years after its last appearance. More than just a promotion, this achievement reflects relentless dedication, shared passion, and an ambition that continues to grow.
A Partnership Strengthened
At the heart of this new chapter is the unwavering support of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM). A loyal partner since last season, SBM has reinforced its commitment to the women’s team, propelling the club to new heights. With the arrival of Stéphane Valeri, President-Delegate of SBM, as co-president of MBA alongside Éric Elena, the club enters this season with renewed energy and ambition.
“We embrace excellence in all our endeavors, promote women in sports, and value teamwork and commitment. Supporting the Monaco Basket Association aligns perfectly with these principles,” shared Stéphane Valeri. “Our long-term ambition is to build a great club, together.”

Ambitions for the Season
The team, led by talented new coach Petros Prekas, aims to:
- Grow both on and off the court
- Compete with determination and flair in LF2
- Proudly represent Monaco with elegance and resilience
- Inspire fans and unite the community around women’s basketball
With a strong roster featuring standout players such as Martina Bestagno, Kimsy Demontoux, and captain Lysa Millavet, the MBA promises to deliver a season filled with emotion, spectacular plays, and unforgettable moments.

A Club with Heart
Since its founding in 2009 by Martine and Éric Elena, the MBA has been a driving force in the Principality, not only promoting women’s basketball at the professional level but also introducing the sport to youth across Monaco. Their dedication has built a community where passion, humility, and respect guide every step forward.
As the players prepare to take to the court, one thing is certain: this season is not just about victories, but about writing a new story for Monaco—one rebound, one basket, and one cheer at a time.
Daghe Munegu!
